Grammy-nominated rapper Flo Rida brought his catalog of chart-topping hits to Eisenhower Park on Aug. 31 as part of Nassau County’s free summer concert series.

The concert, presented by Nassau County, featured Flo Rida as the headliner, with DJ duo Quantum Cor opening the show. The performance was held at 7 p.m. at the county park in East Meadow and was free to the public.

Flo Rida, whose real name is Tramar Dillard, has been a fixture in pop and hip-hop music for nearly two decades. The Florida native broke onto the national music scene in 2007 with “Low,” featuring T-Pain, which became a massive crossover hit and spent 10 weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100.

The song helped introduce Flo Rida’s signature blend of hip-hop, dance and pop music to an international audience. “Low” was featured on his 2008 debut album, “Mail on Sunday,” and became one of the defining hits of the late 2000s.

His success continued with a string of songs that became staples of radio, clubs and parties, including “Right Round,” featuring Kesha; “Club Can’t Handle Me,” featuring David Guetta; “Good Feeling”; “Wild Ones,” featuring Sia; “Whistle”; “I Cry”; and “My House.”

Located in the heart of Nassau County, Eisenhower Park encompasses hundreds of acres and draws residents from communities across the county. Its summer concerts give Long Islanders an opportunity to see established performers without traveling into New York City or purchasing tickets to a traditional arena or theater show.

The Aug. 31 performance continued that tradition with an artist whose career has produced some of the most commercially successful pop-rap songs of the past two decades.

For Nassau County residents, the concert also brought a major national act practically into their backyard, with Eisenhower Park serving as a regional entertainment destination while remaining deeply connected to the surrounding community.
