The Nassau County International Nights series continued July 13 with Italian American Night at the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre in Eisenhower Park, drawing families and community members for an evening celebrating Italian heritage through music and culture.
The free event featured Sicilian vocalist Giuseppe Leto, whose performance included operatic arias, Neapolitan classics and Italian pop favorites. The program also included performances of the Italian and United States national anthems.
Guests gathered with lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the outdoor concert, which was sponsored in part by the Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America Grand Lodge of New York and other community partners.
Following the event, Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman thanked the Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America for organizing the evening, praising the group's efforts to preserve Italian heritage, support charitable causes and strengthen community ties.
