The East Meadow Baseball and Softball Association welcomed the 2026 season in festive fashion with its annual opening day parade on April 25, ushering in spring with a tradition that continues to bring the community together year after year.
The parade began at Veterans Memorial Park on Prospect Avenue and made its way toward Merrick Avenue, where the association’s main ball fields are located. Along the route, hundreds of players proudly marched with their teams, sporting fresh uniforms and carrying colorful banners as families, friends and neighbors lined the streets to cheer them on.
Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, community organizations from across Long Island joined the procession, alongside local leaders who came out in support of the young athletes and the start of a new season.
