The W.T. Clarke High School Rams boys’ volleyball team completed a season few programs ever experience, finishing 14-0 and topping Conference 2D. Their success was built on an unshakable commitment to teamwork, depth and discipline. What unfolded over the fall was a collective effort that highlighted not just skill, but character.

  1. A perfect season built on unity and purpose

The 2025 W.T. Clarke High School Rams varsity boys volleyball team delivered a fall season that will be remembered for years. Their 14-0 record and first-place finish in Nassau County’s Conference 2D were fueled not just by athletic talent, but by a selfless, all-in team mentality. Every player embraced their role, creating an environment where support, trust, and shared purpose guided their preparation. Head coach Tim Thom and assistant coach Dean Lanza cultivated a culture that emphasized family-style cohesion, allowing players to compete with confidence and composure. The Rams didn’t just win matches — they built a framework of unity that shaped how they practiced, how they communicated, and ultimately, how they rose to the top together.

  1. Balance, skill and depth defined Clarke’s on-court identity

Clarke’s success rested on a lineup that could execute at every position, with players whose strengths complemented one another. Setter Ethan Follick served as the tactical anchor, distributing the ball with poise and enabling a dynamic, unpredictable offense. Hitters Jameson Barry, Daniel Wang and Alex Hall delivered steady, powerful attacks that turned tight rallies into momentum-shifting points. On defense, Alex Babwah and Sami Sheikh provided reliability in the back row, extending plays and keeping the team composed in high-pressure moments. Late-season surges from Darron and Devin Chen added energy and adaptability, while versatile contributors Patrick Lu, Michael Burriesci and Gavin Tibbal came off the bench to spark crucial stretches. Together, they formed a balanced unit that opponents struggled to counter.

  1. Serving strength and team character pushed the Rams to perfection

Among the many areas where Clarke excelled, serving emerged as a defining advantage. Throughout the season, players across the roster delivered pivotal service runs — some driven by power, others by placement — that tilted momentum and kept opponents off balance. This consistency at the line underscored the team’s preparedness and mental toughness. Their perfect record reflects a program built on collective responsibility rather than reliance on individual stars. From the first serve of the season to the final point, the Rams demonstrated how shared belief, discipline and resilience can fuel something extraordinary. Their undefeated campaign stands as a testament to what a united team can accomplish when everyone commits to rising together.
