As Winter comes to an end, students from East Meadow High School’s Key Club are getting ready to revitalize their local food pantries following the successful Thanksgiving food drive of last year.
The students staffing the food drive are members of the Key Club, a young people’s division of the nonprofit Kiwanis Club.
Community members can donate nonperishable goods to support local families in need. Volunteers will accept sealed food items and ingredients as well as gift cards to purchase perishable items such as dairy products, fresh meat and vegetables.
The collection will occur outside the ShopRite in Uniondale on March 21 and 22. To donate, go shopping and pass along any spare goods between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The Kiwanis Club of East Meadow is involved in community events all year long. For more information about upcoming events and how to donate, visit k03823.site.kiwanis.org.
