Three arrested for drug sale in shopping center lot

Drug arrests

Third Squad detectives reported three arrests for criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal sale of marijuana that occurred in East Meadow on April 8 at 8:55 p.m.

According to detectives, Third Precinct plainclothes police officers observed a drug transaction take place between two vehicles in the Walmart parking lot located at 2465 Hempstead Tpke.  

Police said two arrestees from East Islip, were seen selling marijuana to a defendant front Ozone Park, Queens. 

According to police, at the time of arrest, officers found one defendant to be in possession of marijuana, Hydrocodone and Suboxone pills. The other was found to be in possession of marijuana, police said. 

Police charged the defendants with multiple counts of criminal possession and sale of controlled substances and marijuana. 

Grand larceny

Unknown persons removed copper and tools from storage trailers on Front Street in East Meadow, sometime between 7 p.m. on April 7 and 7 a.m. on April 8. 

DWI

A state trooper stopped a green Ford pick-up truck on April 6 at 3:40 p.m. after police said the driver, a 51-year-old East Meadow man, went through the red light on the southbound side of Hempstead Turnpike to enter the southbound lanes of Bethpage Parkway. During an interview of the driver, the trooper said he detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage. Police said the defendant failed sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested for DWI. According to state police, the defendant produced a positive breath sample, a blood alcohol content rating of 0.21 percent. He was charged with DWI and traffic violations, and is scheduled to appear in Nassau County Court on May 19.
