Gene Casey and the Lone Sharks rock out East Meadow

Gene Casey brought decades of rock-and-roll history to the East Meadow Public Library on Dec. 21, performing with his band, the Lone Sharks, as part of the library’s Sunday Concert series. Emerging from New York City’s punk scene before settling on Long Island’s East End, Casey formed the Lone Sharks, who became known as the “house band of the Hamptons.” Over the years, they shared stages with legendary artists including Bo Diddley, The Band and Wanda Jackson.

During the performance, Casey drew on a career that includes original music featured in television shows and films such as “Justified” and “The Killing Season.” His contributions to the regional music scene have earned widespread recognition, including induction into the Long Island Sound Award from the Long Island Music Hall of Fame.
