Three East Rockaway students attending Nassau BOCES Barry Tech were recently inducted into the National Technical Honor Society, which recognizes outstanding achievement in career and technical education programs.
The East Rockaway honorees were Jenna Quaranto, a student in the Cosmetology program; Gianna Verga, a student in Animation and Digital Media Skills; and Colleen Lynch, a student in the Medical Assisting program.
More than 140 Barry Tech students representing 34 school districts across Long Island were inducted into the honor society this spring. Students are selected based on academic achievement, leadership, community service and recommendations from their instructors.
National Technical Honor Society membership is considered one of the highest honors in career and technical education and recognizes students who have demonstrated excellence both in the classroom and in their technical training.
