Residents are invited to discover how the Revolutionary War unfolded right here in Lynbrook and East Rockaway during a special presentation on June 22 at 7 p.m. at the Lynbrook Public Library. The program will be led by Lynbrook Village Historian Art Mattson and East Rockaway Village Historian Frank Torre as part of the nation’s America 250 celebration.
Attendees will learn about local Patriots and Tories, Revolutionary War-era events that took place on Long Island, and the area's connection to George Washington. The evening will also feature a performance by the West End School second-grade Patriotic Singers and samples of “Martha Washington’s Punch,” a colonial-era mocktail.
The event is sponsored by the Historical Society of East Rockaway and Lynbrook and the Lynbrook Public Library.
