Lynbrook police officers are being praised for their quick and professional response to a medical emergency at Our Lady of Peace Church earlier this month.

According to a letter written by Deacon Kevin McCormack, a woman suddenly lost consciousness during the 12 p.m. Sunday Mass, prompting an immediate 911 call. Within minutes, Officers Mike Lanaro, Rob Geldmacher and Brendan Lavista arrived on the scene and took control of the situation.

McCormack noted that the officers handled the situation with calm, professionalism and care, providing reassurance not only to the woman and her family but also to the entire congregation. He added that their swift response and composed demeanor reflected the high standards of the Lynbrook Police Department.

As a longtime resident and church leader, McCormack expressed his gratitude for the officers’ service, calling them a strong example of the department’s commitment to the community.

Lynbrook Mayor Alan Beach also publicly thanked the department, recognizing their continued dedication and service throughout the village.
