A new playground will be built in the back of Lawrence Middle School for the elementary-age students in third, fourth and fifth grades that attend the elementary school inside the building.

The Lawrence School District aided by a $125,000 state grant with help from then Assemblyman Todd Kaminsky (D-Long Beach) broke ground on a new playground last month for the elementary school students that now attend the Broadway campus at the middle school.
Third, fourth and fifth grade students make up what is called Lawrence Elementary School that is housed in the middle school building.
District officials, students and Kaminsky, now the winner of the 9th Senate District race, gathered at the play area’s site on April 3.
