Hoops for Hope at Hewlett High School helps SIBSPlace and LI Cares

The annual Hoops for Hopes basketball game was played at Hewlett High School last Friday and featured the Bulldogs playing Division High School. Peninsula Kiwanis presented checks of $1,000 each to SIBSPlace and Long Island Cares.

SIBSPlace, is a Hewlett-based South Nassau Communities Hospital program that serves children, ages 5-17, living with a sibling or parent who has cancer or another serious or devastating illness.

Long Island Cares/ The Harry Chapin Food Bank provides a broad scope of programs, including food drives, hunger education, job training, kids cafes, mobile outreach vans, teaching children how to do better in school and food pantries.
