St. Joachim’s honors the Galantes at its Diamond Ball

Fran and John Galante were honored by St. Joachim R.C. Church at the its 33rd annual Diamond Ball at the Woodmere Club on June 23.

The Galantes are very involved with the Cedarhurst church as they have been active members since their marriage, in 1976. Previously, they were members of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Inwood and Fran was active in the Parish School of Religion.

Fran and John are also known for their civic-mindedness. Fran is the Church Lector coordinator and a member of the Coordinating Committee of the Five Towns Parishes. John has been a football and basketball coach for the Inwood Buccaneers and a coach of the St. Joachim Girls C.Y.O. basketball teams. Currently, he serves as an usher at the 5 p.m. Mass.

The Galantes have been together since they met at Lawrence High School, graduating in 1972. They have four daughters and four grandchildren.
