Julio Enmanuel Pena, from Freeport, was arrested on Monday afternoon by the Narcotics Vice Squad of the Nassau County Police Department for charges related to the criminal sale of controlled substances.
According to detectives, Pena, 39, had previously made arrangements to sell cocaine and used his own 13-year-old daughter to complete the transaction with the alleged buyer.
Following an investigation, Pena was arrested at about 12:40 p.m. at his home in Freeport without incident. During the arrest, an additional quantity of a substance believed to be cocaine by investigators was found and recovered at his residence.
Pena faces three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree, conspiracy in the third degree, use of a child to commit a controlled substance offense and endangering the welfare of a child.
Pena's arraignment was scheduled to be on June 2, at the First District Court in Hempstead.
