Freeport man arrested for illicit gambling machines in Roosevelt

Freeport man Rafael Osorio was arrested by the Nassau County Police Department during a quality-of-life initiative that occurred on Wednesday, May 20, at 8:55 p.m. in Roosevelt. 

According to the Nassau police's Strategic Response Team, officers came to the Nassau Fish Market, located at 245 Nassau Road, to conduct a licensed premise inspection.

During the investigation, officers observed four illicit electronic gambling machines inside the premises, which were seized. Officers recovered $4,134 from inside the machines. 

According to public records, Osorio, 29, has been arrested in connection to gambling investigations in the past at the Nassau Fish Market, once in August 2023 and again in March 2024. 

Osorio, who lived on North Columbus Avenue in Freeport, was issued appearance tickets under New York State Alcoholic Beverage Control Law and Town of Hempstead Places of Public Assembly License Requirements Violations. The tickets are returnable to Nassau County's First District Court on June 29, 2026.
