Puppy Pool Party coming to Freeport Recreation Center

Posted

With the summer winding down, many people may be hoping to take advantage of the final chances to catch some summer rays and participate in some water activities ahead of the fall. At the Freeport Recreation Center, dogs will get a chance to join the late summer fun during the village’s Puppy Pool Party on Sept. 12.

The annual pool party invites residents to have some fun in the Freeport Recreation Center’s outdoor pool with their puppies and dogs starting at 10 a.m. this Saturday.

All dogs under 40 pounds are invited to swim with their owners from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Dogs between 40 pounds and 80 pounds will be allowed to swim between 11:15 a.m. and 12: 15 p.m.

“It is always great fun and the owners enjoy one last dip in the outdoor pool along with their four-legged family members,” Elizabeth Comerford, Village of Freeport recreation manager said. “I think the people have as much fun as the dogs.”

Owners must pay a fee of $10 per dog for them and their furry companion to be allowed to participate. Pre-registration must be down Jackie Casey, who can be reached at (516) 771-4189 and jcasey@freeportny.gov.

Vaccination records for the dogs must be provided during registration.
