A New Jersey woman, Santa Lopez, was arrested by the Narcotics Vice Squad of the Nassau County Police Department for alleged prostitution on May 21 in Freeport.
According to detectives, an undercover investigation was conducted at The Freeport Inn and Marina located at 445 South Main Street after it was determined that prostitution was occurring at the location. Lopez, from Guttenberg, New Jersey, was arrested at the scene at around 3:20 p.m. without incident.
Lopez had been charged with prostitution and was released from Nassau County custody on an appearance ticket. Further investigation discovered that she had illegally migrated to the U.S. and is subject to deportation. U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement agents took Lopez back into custody.
