Freeport Recreation Center to host second Hempstead job fair of the year

The Town of Hempstead and its Department of Occupational Resources, also known as HempsteadWorks, is inviting all interested residents to attend its October job fair at the Freeport Recreation Center. Registered participants will have access to dozens of Long Island, New York City and New York state employment opportunities across several industries.

The job fair, which is scheduled to take place on Oct. 14, will first be open to veterans and disabled individuals at 9:30 a.m. The general public will be allowed admission starting at 10:30 a.m. until the fair’s closing at 3 p.m.

Registration is required to attend the job fair and be done online at hempsteadworks.com/jobfair. Registrants will receive an invitation via email to attend a pre-event online workshop to prepare for the job fair.

Registered participants are asked to bring multiple physical copies of their resumes to share with employers that they speak with.

Some of the employers who will be represented at the event and will be looking to hire people for various roles include Cox Fleet, Risewell Community Services, New York State Police, Total Orthopedics Spine and Sports Medicine LLC., Quality Services for the Autism Community, New York Army National Guard, New York City Fire Department, Doyle Security Services, Economic Opportunity Commission of Nassau County Inc. and many more.

The most recent HempsteadWorks job fair at the Freeport Recreation Center was held in March of this year, and drew hundreds of job seekers to the venue. Attendees ranged from young recent college graduates to those in their 60s. Residents from across the Town of Hempstead came to the job fair, also joined by some New York City residents and others from surrounding regions.
