Nassau County Legislators Debra Mulé and Scott M. Davis hosted a school supply drive on Saturday, Aug. 15 in support of the upcoming 21st annual Trimz “Cutz for EDU” back-to-school celebration in Freeport on Aug. 22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Donated composition notebooks, spiral notebooks, mechanical pencils, wooden pencils, pens, pocket folders, child-safe scissors, pencil cases, glue sticks, erasers, rulers and other miscellaneous supplies were given out to local students ahead of the approaching school year.

“The cost of school supplies should never be an obstacle that prevents our children from excelling in the classroom,” Mulé said. “Every donation will help to prepare a student in our community to thrive, and I encourage you to give what you can to make a positive difference in the lives of our neighbors.”

The event will be hosted at 20 Guy Lombardo Avenue. For further donations or information, please contact Mulé’s office at 516-571-6206 or dmule@nassaucountyny.gov.
