The Sands Beach Club building suffered minor damage and no one was injured after a May 27 fire at the beach club on Beech Street Atlantic Beach.

The Sands Beach Club building suffered minor damage and no one was injured after a May 27 fire at the beach club on Beech Street in Atlantic Beach.
Nassau police were first on the scene and saw smoke emanating from the laundry room around 6 p.m. The Long Beach Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire. The Nassau County Fire Marshals and Arson Bomb Squad detectives were also on the scene.
The fire was deemed not suspicious at this time by officials. The investigation is ongoing.
