A West Hempstead man allegedly injured five Nassau police officers after he became “violent and combative,” police said.

After what police called a “verbal argument” occurred between a man and woman, 26, at 78 Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead on July 25, the man left the scene on a bicycle.

Police found him nearby and when they tried to arrest, Luis Taborda Corrales, 27, he struggled with them, and all the officers were injured and taken to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment, according to NCPD.

Corrales is charged with three counts of assault, four counts of harassment and resisting arrest.

He pleaded not guilty, the judge granted a temporary order of protection, and Corrales is out on bail.

His next court date is July 30. The Legal Society of Nassau County is representing him.
