Burglary arrest in East Rockaway
Nassau County Fourth Squad detectives arrested a man at his East Rockaway home for a burglary at Village Convenience Store on Nov. 16.
According to detectives, Peter DeJesus, 37, of Scranton Avenue, broke the front glass door of the store at 8 Centre Ave. in East Rockaway on Nov. 15. The defendant then left, and returned to the scene at 11:13 p.m., caught attempting to break the door on a store surveillance tape. The defendant also attempted to enter the store by breaking the front door on Nov. 13 at 12:0l a.m. He was recognized to be a regular customer, police said.
DeJesus is being charged with two counts of attempted burglary in the third degree. He was arraigned on Nov. 16 in First District Court in Hempstead.

Criminal mischief
Between 9 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Nov. 11 and 12, an unknown person(s) spray painted graffiti on a garage door located on Front Street in East Rockaway.
