Arrests
On Jan. 11 at 1:28 p.m., A 21-year-old East Rockaway woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated at the intersection of Weidner Avenue and Lawson Boulevard in Oceanside.
A 26-year-old Bellmore man was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana on Sunrise Highway at 10:43 p.m. on Jan. 19.
On Jan. 20 at 5:23 p.m. a 24-year-old woman from Brooklyn was arrested and charged with grand larceny 3rd degree at Citibank 320 Merrick Rd. The defendant deposited a fraudulent check into her personal Citibank account and then started to make ATM withdrawals from her account to obtain the funds. The complainant has sustained a loss in excess of $8,000.
On Jan. 21 at 2:41 a.m., A Valley Stream man was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident on East Argyle Street.


Lost property
At 5:22 p.m. on Jan. 18, 12 the complainant reports a lost New York State dealer registration plate. The plate was lost in the vicinity of Sunrise Volkswagen, 931 Sunrise Hwy.

Criminal mischief

On Jan. 19 at 7:11 p.m., an unknown person(s) damaged a 2008 Toyota by scratching the car with an unknown object and breaking the passenger side mirror. The car was parked on Lakeview Avenue and the total damage to the car was $500.
At 8:56 p.m. on Jan. 21, an unknown person(s) broke the front passenger window of a 2005 Mazda that was parked in the rear parking area of the Knights of Columbus at 78 Hempstead Ave. The value of the window is $350.
 On Jan. 22 at 2:50 p.m. an unknown person(s) broke the driver’s window of a 2008 Ford that was parked in the driveway of Gentle Care at 130 Merrick Road. The value of the window is $200.

Burglary

At 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 20, two suspects broke a rear window and entered a house on Whitehall Street. The persons removed $4,000 from the bedroom. The subjects are described as a white males, one with a stocky build, wearing a white warm-up suit with dark stripes on the sleeves; the other was a white male, wearing light jeans and a light colored shirt. The subjects may be operating a silver Volkswagen Jetta with a white registration plate.

Petit larceny
On Jan. 21 at 8:30 p.m., a complainant reported parking his 2002 Nissan in the rear parking area of the Knights of Columbus at 78 Hempstead Ave. and entering the building. At 8:50 p.m. the complainant went back to his car and found a male wearing an all black sweat suit in the front driver’s seat. As the complainant approached, the male jumped to the passenger side and exited the car. The male then jumped the fence and fled northbound. The subject is described as a male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 160 pounds, medium build wearing a black hooded sweat suit. The complainant then found the window of the rear driver’s door smashed and his GPS and digital camera missing. The value of the property and window is $750.
