Fire destroys Oceanside store early Friday morning
A fire tore through the Wrap Pack & Mail and Spice Outlet stores on Oceanside Road early Friday morning, igniting shortly after midnight.
Around 100 firefighters from multiple surrounding departments responded including 50 from the Oceanside Fire Department.
Supporting Oceanside were teams from Rockville Centre, Baldwin, East Rockaway, Island Park, and Long Beach fire departments.
On the scene, heavy fire was observed on the first floor, and three hose lines were deployed to address the situation. Additional assistance came from the Nassau County Fire Marshals, Nassau County Police Department, Nassau County Health Department, and the Town of Hempstead Building Department. The coordinated response from all agencies was instrumental in managing the incident.
Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control within about an hour. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
