Under the auspices of the Nassau County Fire Marshal’s Office and the county’s Emergency Management, the East Rockaway and Lynbrook fire departments collected donated supplies for the victims of Hurricane Helene on Oct. 3.
East Rockaway noted it was collecting items that will be delivered to Ashville in Both Carolina and Vidalia in Georgia. Cleaning supplies, insect repellant, non-perishable food and toiletries were collected by both departments.
