Love the Beatles? Bon Jovi? Remember Rembrandt etchings? Do you admire Ansel Adams and palpitate over a Peter Max? Need a Norman Rockwell and go ga-ga over Guido Borelli?

Yes, these artisits and their works were all up for auction on Oct. 29 at the Lynbrook Chamber of Commerce their inaugural Art Auction at the St. Mary-Maris Stella Council No. 2228 on Hempstead Avenue in Lynbrook.

If you’ve never attended an art auction, you may be surprised to learn that it can be affordable, fun and a great way to spend an evening with friends and fellow art lovers. Rick Brandwein was the fast-talking auctioneer who represented Arin Ross Auctions, in partnership with Marline Fine Arts.

“It was a fun-filled night,” said Denise Rogers, who co-chaired the event with Nancy Friedman. “We couldn’t have done it without the help of the K of C, and a portion of the proceeds will go to a good cause — the Wounded Warrior Project.” Chamber members Carol Burak and Ether Jollon were also on the event planning committee.

An hour-long art viewing was held as buyers munched on fine cheeses and sipped fine wine. Next year’s event is already set for Nov. 4 so mark your calendars and visit the Lynbrook Chamber’s website www.lynbrookusa.com periodically for updates and other fundraisers.
