Trapped passenger rescued by LFD

Lynbrook firefighters rescued a passenger trapped in her SUV after it ran off Peninsula Boulevard last Sunday, landing in the ravine that runs along the road just south of Sunrise Highway.   

     Assistant Chief Carl Lengel, along with members from the Emergency Medical Company, Tally-Ho Engine 3, and Truck Company arrived on the scene at about 3:15 p.m. 

The firefighters used ladders to get down to the bottom of the ravine, where the passenger was placed on a stretcher and pulled up the embankment. 

She was transported to the hospital in stable condition. by the Emergency Medical Company.

The driver was able to climb from the vehicle before the police and firefighters arrived on the scene.
