Attempting to reach a goal by wishing it into existence and sorting out the consequences later almost always leads to collateral damage. Planning today with affordability, reliability and long-term success in mind will ensure that today’s decisions don’t create tomorrow’s crisis. That’s the discipline New York should apply to its energy policy to prepare for success, not failure.
