Despite strong community opposition, the Town of Hempstead unanimously approved a real estate developer’s rezoning request that provides its first step in building a 12-condo development on two parcels of land that sit on Hempstead Avenue in Malverne Park. The request to rezone the properties, located at 494 and 1104 Hempstead Avenue in Malverne Park, was granted at the town’s August 2 board meeting.
