Malverne
10:00 a.m. start
The Malverne Memorial Day parade will begin on Church Street and proceed:
East on Utterby Road to Linmouth Road
South on Linmouth Road to Wicks Lane
East on Wicks Lane to Rolling Street
South on Rolling Street to Lexington Avenue
West on Lexington Avenue to Hempstead Avenue
There will be a stop at Hempstead and Lexington avenues while the Veteran’s Organizations and Village Officials place a wreath at Harris Memorial Field.
The parade continues north on Hempstead Avenue to Church Street
A ceremony on Church Street at Reese Veterans Memorial Park will immediately follow the parade.
West Hempstead
10:00 a.m. start
The parade line up starts at St. Thomas’ Chapel’s parking field near the intersection of Hempstead Avenue and Nassau Boulevard. From there, it will continue along Hempstead Avenue down to Roosevelt Boulevard and then to Echo Park. The ceremony is in the Echo Park parking field and begins approximately at 11:00 a.m.

Barely Know Her

At the beginning of the year, County Legislator Siela Bynoe was getting a handful of complaints from Lakeview residents about discolored water. So she started going to different community meetings and asking people if they were having the same problem. “Residents would ask me, ‘How did you know?’” Bynoe recounted. “They thought it was an internal issue within their own home.”
