A Roosevelt man arrested for a West Hempstead robbery in 2014 was charged in connection with an additional five robberies and two attempts on Thursday that took place between May and September 2014 in West Hempstead, Merrick, Elmont, Mineola and Bethpage.

Service on the Long Island Rail Road’s Babylon and West Hempstead branches will be impacted by overnight track work beginning at 11 p.m. on Friday, March 4, ending at 5 a.m. and on Saturday, March 6, at 11 p.m. until 5 a.m.

The Long Island Rail Road will be implementing new train schedules beginning Monday, March 7 on several South Shore branches. The schedule adjusts some off-peak and weekend trains because of ongoing and upcoming construction projects.
