Blakeman declares victory for another term as County Executive

Voters turned out across Nassau County to decide critical races that will shape leadership and policy at every level -- from County Executive to local offices.

Republican incumbent Bruce Blakeman secured another term as Nassau County executive, defeating Democrat Seth Koslow in Tuesday’s election. Blakeman campaigned on public safety, fiscal restraint and quality-of-life issues.

“I want to thank the men and women of Nassau County for giving us all your trust,” Blakeman said. “If not for the people of Nassau County coming out the way they did, we wouldn’t have had the tremendous result we had tonight.”

Republican incumbent Anne Donnelly was elected to another term as Nassau County district attorney, defeating Democratic challenger Nicole Aloise. Donnelly emphasized her record on prosecuting violent crime and protecting vulnerable reside

Republican Comptroller Elaine Phillips won re-election, defeating Democrat Wayne Wink in a race focused on fiscal oversight and government efficiency.

Republican County Clerk Maureen O’Connell held onto her seat, defeating Democrat Joylette Williams for another term overseeing Nassau’s record-keeping and licensing.

Republican Town Clerk Kate Murray won re-election, defeating Democratic challenger Yveline Litha Dalmacy.

John Ferretti, a Republican, was elected to town supervisor after he was appointed to the position following Don Clavin’s resignation on Aug. 5.

Democrats won local positions representing the communities of Malverne, West Hempstead and Lakeview. Carrie Solages will be serving his seventh term in office as a county legislator in District 3. Cynthia Nunez will be representing District 14 and Olena Nicks will be returning to her position as legislator in the newly redrawn District 5.

Dorothy Goosby was re-elected to her seat as representing Council District 1, without backing from the Democratic Party. Republican Laura Ryder will be representing Council District 4.
