Malverne High School juniors and seniors explored potential career paths when they attended the Career Jam Launch at Nassau Coliseum on Sept. 17, joining students from across Nassau County for a day focused on career exploration, workforce development and networking.

Malverne students also participated in the event’s official ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside local elected officials and event organizers. The ceremony marked the launch of a program designed to connect high school students with career opportunities and help them explore potential paths after graduation.

Career Jam Launch is a career exploration program for 11th- and 12th-grade students, showcasing opportunities including internships, apprenticeships, project-based learning experiences, full-time careers and part-time or seasonal employment. Hosted in partnership with HempsteadWorks, the event brought students and businesses together to highlight opportunities in a variety of industries.

Throughout the day, students participated in interactive, hands-on activities, met with business representatives and learned about local career paths that aligned with their interests and goals. The event offered students information they could use whether they planned to attend college, enter the workforce directly after graduation or consider other career and training opportunities.

The experience was part of Malverne’s efforts to prepare students for life after high school by providing real-world learning opportunities outside the classroom. Students had opportunities to explore their interests, learn more about the skills sought by employers and gather information that could help them make decisions about their education and careers.

Malverne students represented the district throughout the event as they spoke with employers, participated in activities and learned about the range of career and workforce opportunities available in Nassau County.
