Overcast Pedestrian in critical condition after being hit by vehicle

A 73-year-old woman is in critical condition after she was allegedly struck by a vehicle while walking on Woodfield Road in Lakeview Wednesday at 9:17 p.m.
According to Nassau County Homicide Squad, the woman was crossing the intersection of Woodfield Road and Oakford Street when she was struk by a blue 2003 Toyota Highlander. The 82-year-old driver of the Toyota remained at the scene and contacted police.
The woman suffered serious injuries and was transported by a Nassau County ambulance to a local area hospital for treatment, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
