This project began five years ago. After I retired from Congress in January 2021, I started to assemble my thoughts, news stories, photos and memorabilia from 28 years in office in an attempt to make some sense of, and put in some perspective, my experiences. The more I assembled, the more I realized how long and unlikely the journey had been — and how fortunate I had been. more
It began with a simple but deliberate decision: to accept and respect our differences and to embrace the discomfort of unfamiliarity. The time for flip-flops, delays and partisan posturing is over. The families of Nassau County deserve a government that works as hard as they do. We’re done waiting for the majority to rediscover its 2022 backbone. We are focused on the politics of results, and we won’t stop until the gas tax cap holiday is a reality for every driver in this county. more
Strong schools don’t begin with programs or policies alone. They begin with people. People are our greatest asset in creating welcoming and affirming environments for students. By prioritizing belonging, we build school systems that foster academic success and emotional well-being through the connections students have with their school community. more
