Meadowbrook Road at Babylon Turnpike in Merrick was shut down in both directions following a water main break at about 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As of 8 p.m., the main had not been repaired, and the road –– along with the eastbound M7 exit on the Meadowbrook Parkway –– remained closed.

Those were the four magical words that Sue Moller, of Merrick, recently heard as a contestant on the popular nationwide game show “The Price is Right.” She correctly guessed the price of the car while playing one of the show’s mini-games and won herself a new Ford Fiesta.

In early June, Calhoun High School senior Erin Zseller will head to the war-ravaged nation of Uganda as part of a two-week volunteer mission sponsored by the non-profit organization Invisible Children.
Zseller was chosen from a pool of 10 Calhoun applicants, and she will be the fourth student from the school to make the trip to Uganda in the past three years.
