Chatterton School students and their families kicked off the new school year with a back-to-school picnic filled with music, games and activities on Sept. 18.
Organized by the Chatterton PTA and school staff, the event brought students, families, teachers and staff together in the schoolyard for an afternoon of fun and an opportunity to reconnect.
A DJ provided music as students danced, hula-hooped, played sports and spent time on the playground with their classmates. Families also enjoyed hamburgers, popcorn and other treats.
Members of the sixth grade graduating class held a bake sale during the picnic to raise money for class activities.
The annual gathering gave students and families a chance to spend time together outside the classroom while welcoming the Chatterton community back for another school year.
