Led by Abby and Miguel Melendez of Baldwin, the two brought back Relay for Life to their community on June 8 at Baldwin Harbor Park.
This event not only raises vital funds for cancer research and patient support but also fosters a sense of unity and resilience among participants worldwide, reinforcing the importance of community in the fight against cancer.
Launched in 1985, the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life has become a global event, taking place in more than 30 countries and bringing together communities to honor those who have succumbed to the disease and to celebrate those who have survived it.
