A day for Veterans

The Oceanside Library was proud to host its first Veteran’s Reception on Nov. 7. The reception, attended by Oceanside veterans and their families, featured the debut of the Library’s growing collection of photographs of local veterans. In addition they heard presentations by Brent Russell of the PFC Dwyer Vet-to-Vet organization, and by Larry Mansfield of the Nassau County Veterans Service Agency concerning benefits and assistance available to veterans and their families. The library presented gifts to veterans from WWII through today. The Library is still collecting photographs of veterans; anyone interested I donating pictures should contact Tony Iovino at 516 766-2360 ext 340 or at aiovino@oceansidelibrary.com.
