Gunshots were fired after two men engaged in what Nassau police deemed a “road rage incident,” initially on Rockaway Turnpike at 8:45 p.m. on Sept. 16.

One man, 54, was driving his 2016 Ford pickup north on Rockaway Turnpike and another man was driving a dark-colored sedan, also traveling north, police said.

The Ford driver pulled into the Five Towns Shopping Center parking lot in Woodmere, when the sedan driver also drove into the parking lot, and then fired a gun multiple times striking the man, according to police.

He suffered what police said is “a minor laceration to his arm,” and he was treated at a local hospital. The alleged shooter then fled the scene, heading north again on Rockaway Turnpike, police said.

The investigation is continuing, officials said.
