We are exactly where we are supposed to be

Posted

As you will come to know, my favorite mantra is “There is no such thing as a coincidence.” With that premise in mind, it should not surprise anyone to know that the universe never makes a mistake and we are always exactly where we are supposed to be at any given point in time.
Most of us have the feeling that we are here to accomplish something big in our lives. If we haven’t done something spectacular by our standards we may start to feel incomplete and empty. But in most cases, we can let ourselves off the hook with the realization that just being here and being ourselves is enough. There is no need to hold ourselves to the old idea that we need to make headlines or single-handedly save the world in order to validate our existence.
At the same time, it is sometimes necessary to re-examine our lives to see if there are some changes that can be made to put ourselves in harmony with what we would like to accomplish. By gently examining the areas of our lives that seem to give us the most trouble and seem to work against our best interest, we can reveal things to ourselves that we may not have realized or wished to have seen.
We all have those negative thoughts and ideas that we hold onto so tightly, wishing they would just dissipate from our lives. Instead of trying to wish them away, we must consciously make an effort to release our fears and negative thoughts to the universe and take responsibility for the things we can change in our lives. Only then can we more easily surrender to the things we can’t change.
This process may not happen overnight, but with time and determination we can successfully overcome those negative influences and voices that haunt our very existence. As life unfolds for each of us, it is happening just as it should. We are here to accomplish what is needed for our growth spiritually, all while learning some valuable lessons along the way. Cherish each day as it comes, the good with the bad. Understand that from negative experiences we learn to appreciate all that is good. Most importantly, always remember, you are exactly where you are suppose to be.
