New mayor elected in Bayville, two trustees re-elected

Paul Rupp has been elected as Bayville’s next mayor, receiving 519 write-in votes. Five write-in candidates spoke at a Meet the Candidates even on June 9. Rupp, a former mayor, was not among them. Current Mayor Steve Minicozzi received 382 write-in votes. Rena Bologna, who did speak at Meet the Candidates, received 368 votes.  

Three trustee seats were also on the ballot. Roughly 90 names were written in by voters. Two candidates who spoke at the Jun 9 event were incumbent trustees Anne Walsh and Aimee DiBartolomeo. Both were re-elected through write-in votes. Walsh received 869 votes, and DiBartolomeo received 860. Michael Genova won the third seat, receiving 354 votes.
