The Life Enrichment Center in Oyster Bay received two grants from New York State Assemblyman Charles Lavine on Tuesday, one for $125,000 and the other for $30,000. The former will go towards improving and modernizing the restrooms at the center, while the smaller grant is to be used for programmatic funding, specifically to help secure the services of a qualified social worker.
“The senior centers that we have on the North Shore are models for the nation,” Lavine said in an interview later that day,” and the Life Enrichment Center is one of the great ones.”
