'On Broadway' — on Long Island

The Island Park Theatre Group, in conjunction with the Island Park Union Free School Recreation Department, presented “On Broadway - A Musical Revue” last weekend. A cast of 70 locals actors, dancers and singers entertained the audience at the Lincoln Orens Middle School in Island Park - and the IPTG broke records with its ticket sales.

Valley Stream scouts help the hungry

Troop 109 Boy Scouts collected 96 bags of groceries and about $900 outside King Kullen for its Easter food drive. The donations were split between the Holy Name of Mary parish outreach center and Grace United Methodist Church.

East Rockaway High School seniors take Rock Rivalry

The seniors at East Rockaway High School earned the coveted Cup last weekend during the school's 74th annual Rock Rivalry competition. Points were tallied and included Sports Night, Entrance, mural, backdrop, scriptwriting, choreography, band, lighting, sound, etc. The seniors' score tied for one other class in the history of RR for having the most points in its 74-year history. All of the classes did wonderfully, with entertaining and orginal skits and songs.
