The 2011-12 Merrick Library budget passed a public vote on Wednesday 143-89. Next year’s $2.6 million operating budget includes a 2 increase in expenditures over the current year’s budget.

A group of technically talented teens put their gadget mastery to good use at the Baldwin Public Library on March 2, tutoring a gathering of seniors on the proper use of their gizmos and gear. A half dozen young people between ages 11 and 17 showed up early to enjoy pizza in the community room before their more mature clients began peppering them with questions.
