Dejkameh’s work explores cross cultural themes — not surprising for a woman of her varied background. Dejkameh, who is pursing a degree in creative arts therapy at Hofstra, hopes to help others find a restorative outlet through art. In addition to her painting, the artist works at New Visions Elementary School in Freeport.

N. Merrick family honored for library's logo design

The McKenna family of Merrick were rewarded with the first new keychain library cards from the North Merrick Public Library as an expression of gratitude to Eileen McKenna for designing and donating the library’s recently adopted logo.
