Nassau County police gathered Monday afternoon on Stevens Avenue in North Merrick after receiving a report that a man had threatened his wife with a gun inside their home. A police spokesman said the report proved to be incorrect.

Ambulances rushed one teacher and 14 students Thursday afternoon from Camp Avenue School in North Merrick to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow due to possible carbon monoxide poisoning.
