Gift of Life is a non-profit organization that matches bone marrow donors with recipients. Brian Yaakov Hagler of Woodmere, left, at a Gift of Life event with his wife, Ruchy, will be the emcee for the Sept. 14 Walk for Life bone marrow drive and has been a past recipient through Gift of Life.

Walking for a cause

The Gift of Life foundation was created 20 years ago after Jay Feinberg of West Orange, N.J., having recovered from his own battle with leukemia, created this non-profit organization for matching bone marrow donors with recipients. more

9/11 Sunset Candlelight and Remembrance Ceremony

With the 13th Anniversary of the September 11, 2001, attack on America quickly approaching, Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano announced that the County will honor the memory of those who lost their lives. A Sunset Candlelight and Remembrance Ceremony will take place on Monday, September 8th at 7 p.m. at the 9/11 Memorial in Eisenhower Park, near Parking Field 6. more
