The dingbat of Elmont is at it again. In his letter to the editor in the Jan. 5-11 (“The patronage continues”), Patrick Nicolosi accused County Executive Ed Mangano of appointing former Legislator John Ciotti to a job at Nassau University Medical Center. This would be news if it were true, but as usual, Mr. Nicolosi yells a lot but does little research. more
On behalf of the Valley Stream village board, I would like to congratulate Ida D’Angelo on being named the Herald’s 2011 Person of the Year and thank Andrew Hackmack and the Herald for its superb choice. more

Where’s the beef, Ed? To the Editor: Let me see if I have this straight. Trustee Ed Oppenheimer voted against allowing South Nassau Communities Hospital to lease parking in Rockville … more
Now that local elections are over, I think it is appropriate to draw some conclusions regarding the results. On Nov. 8, a fractional number of the eligible electorate overwhelmingly expressed their view that the incumbents, who have gotten us to our current state of affairs, deserve another opportunity to give us more of the same. more
