Malverne’s free Summer Concert Series
It’ll be an all-out funk-fest when the horn-driven R&B sounds of The Silas Knight Project come to Malverne ‘s Westwood Park this Friday, July 25 at 7:30pm. The New York City-based band is performing a free concert courtesy of the Village of Malverne’s Summer Concert Series, and is lauded for playing the hits of Sly and The Family Stone, Chicago, Stevie Wonder, the Temptations and others loved from the 60’s, 70’s and 80s.

There are some events that are a staple of the village’s summer camp program at Barrett Park, and one of them is the annual field day competition. The event is known as Color Wars, where children split into two teams and wear either red or blue.
